What does Posh mean?

The origin meaning of "Posh" is a person from high class or rich person. According to phrases website 
" The much-repeated tale is that 'Posh' derives from the 'port out, starboard home' legend supposedly printed on tickets of passengers on P&O (Peninsula and Orient) passenger vessels that travelled between UK and India in the days of the Raj." this is the origin meaning for POSH.

Welfare State

1- How many families are dependent on benefits and what are the reasons for this ?

According to The Guardian (2013) they stated "The welfare state is a big part of British family life, with 20.3 million families receiving one some kind of benefit (64% of all families), about 8.7 million of them pensioners." There are many reasons for why families are independent on benefits for example, unemployment, high tax and sickness.

2- What is the opinion of the government? 
The opinion of the government is to change taxes like reducing them and cut housing benefits.  

3- What changes/reforms have they made and how do they justify these ?
They have made many changes like producing council tax, cut welfare bills and introduce benefit claimant for jobs. They justified this so that the people will end up restructuring their culture.

Qatari Language

How many people speak this language in the world today?

- According to nationsonline website (1999) that the number of Arabic speaker in all over the world is nearly 280 000 000

Where are the main area in the UK where this language is spoken?

- Arab in London (2009) stated that "Arabs have been visiting these shores for thousands of years, but large scale immigration began by the end of the 19th century, today there are an estimated half a million Arabs living in the UK, mainly in the capital itself."

What is the history of this language in the UK? When was it first spoken? Who by? What is the story behind its arrival in the UK?

- the story begin in the London where most of arab nationalities were living their. few of them were from Gulf countries but most of them were from Iraq and Libya. Moreover, there are no specific period that it was first spoken but nearly from long time. Nowadays, the Iraq people are the most presented in the UK and they also the first arab who spoke arabic language in the UK. As it known that Iraq is occupied from long time and most people were find difficulties to live in their country.

Any other information about this language that you think may be interesting for other member of the class?

- The arabic language is one of the most important language in the world. Therefor, most of the European people would like to lean this language there is a place called "center for the history of Arabic Studies in Europe" which they are want to know more about Arabic culture.

What is Culture

My definition: It is a groub of people live in one place that have their own ideas and thinking in certain things. For example, eating specific kind of food, wearing the same traditional clouths depending on the country. Also, every country have their own culture and it differ than others.
CARLA's defenetion: In my opinion, I completly agree with this definition because it shows how I become Qatari. Such as when I was young I grow up by learning Arabic culture specialy Qatari culture. Moreover, I grow up in Qatari area and between my parent that teach me how to act as a Qatari person and think like him. Finaly, I think Qatari culture is unique because it contain many good things.
